Swatch: Sephora by OPI "And A Cherry On Top"

Hi again!

Here's my latest swatch, I'm trying to update as frequently as possible :)
This is Sephora by OPI's color: "And A Cherry On Top", which is described on the Sephora website as a "vivid maraschino", but I disagree. I feel that its an absolutely true red hue. It has no shimmer or glitter in it whatsoever, and I really liked the consistency. With one (reasonably thick) coat, it covered the nail beautifully and evenly, without streaking or becoming goopy. I like this color a lot, it's very bright and eye-catching. However, I'd also like to purchase a more sophisticated, darker red. But that's for another post.

Hope you guys like this color too! Please comment and subscribe! :)

Swatch: Sephora by OPI "On Stage"

Hey all!

Here's my latest swatch, for Sephora by OPI's grey-purple color "On Stage".

(indoor light)

(sunlight)

Originally I bought this color as a substitute for the color "Call Your Mother", another grayed, muted purple shade. Since my local Sephora was out of that, I thought "On Stage" would be a good dupe. I'm a little undecided about this color. It's darker than that of "Call Your Mother", and though I thought that would be no big deal, I like it significantly less. It's just sort of dull, but not dull in a cool, avant-garde way.

I would say it's appropriate for adults, and could even be worn to work since it's not bright or too eye-catching. Consistency-wise, one coat was too thin and uneven, but two seemed just right. If you look at my nails up close however, the polish is still uneven in places. Hey, maybe you'll like it, but I'll still be on the prowl for "Call Your Mother".

Hope this helps! Feel free to comment your opinions or request what color out of my collection you'd like me to swatch next.

Swatch: Sephora by OPI "IM Beauty"

Hi again!
Here's the latest swatch for the Sephora by OPI color "IM Beauty". It's a bright lemon yellow, and though I love the color in itself, I'm not a fan of this polish.

First off, the color is not flattering to my skin tone. Maybe it works on other people (I imagine it would look especially great on darker skin tones), but it's not for me. Secondly, the polish itself is not the greatest. With one coat it was streaky and uneven, and mostly sheer. It took many, many goopy thick layers in order to achieve this solid looking yellow creme.

Since the polish is now so thick, it chips REALLY easily. I've had it on for not even a whole day, and it's already begun to chip. Overall, maybe you'll like it, but it's not my favorite. Still, I'm happy to have this addition to my "brights" collection. Hope this helps!

Product of the Day: Got 2b Smooth Operator

Hey all!

Just wanted to share with you a product I've fallen in love with:
Got 2b Smooth Operator - Smoothing Satin Drops.

I was never one to spend a lot of time on my hair after taking a bath or shower. I'm far too lazy to even bother blow drying (haha). On a really good day, I straighten my bangs. That's it.

So, after towel drying, I just put a generous amount of this product in my hair and let it do its thing. Takes no more than 5 minutes and presto! Great, healthy looking, shiny hair that's tangle-free. Unlike some other products, this doesn't leave your hair greasy looking, which is great. Your hair just looks healthy, as if you didn't put any product in it at all.

It leaves my hair smooth to the touch, silky, shiny and easy to brush! I always get compliments from people who say that my hair is so shiny, and well, this is my secret!

Also, my hair gets frizzy and voluminous very easily, and this product helps tame that problem with minimal effort. This bottles lasts ages, because you only need a couple drops each time, so great value!

Hope you like it too!

Swatch: Sephora by OPI "Domestic Goddess"

As promised, here is the first of many nail polish swatches to come. This is the color "Domestic Goddess" (the original, not matte version) from the Sephora by OPI collection.

(photo taken in sunlight)

I really love this polish, it's fun, bright, and works well with my light, yellow/beige-toned skin color. It's described as a "bright grape", on the Sephora website, which is pretty accurate. I'll definitely be using this color often. Hope this is helpful!

(Also, sorry for the crappy nail job, I was in a hurry to get to work and had to do a quick patch up. The swatches to come will be much better quality, since I'll take the photos right when I apply the polish!)

Smashbox Lip Glosses Review

Smashbox is by far my favorite brand for lip glosses, and, being a beauty junkie, I have tried many. I love them because they come in a gorgeous array of colours, are smooth and stay on your lips for ages, and look great alone or layered on top of lip liners or lipsticks. They contain Vitamin E, which soothes and moisturizes lips.

My all time favorite color out of the Smashbox lip gloss collection is the shade "Candid". Its a neutral, pinky-gold colour that is subtly beautiful when worn alone, but can also add a glamorous shimmer to any lipstick, stain, or liner.

The other colors I own so far are:

- "Pout", a semi-sheer bubble gum pink with very minimal shimmer
- "Luster", a shimmery sheer champagne nude color with a hint of baby pink
- "Radiant", a dark plum color with gold shimmer
- "Tease", a bright berry color without shimmer (great for a night out!)
- "Candy", a bright sugary pink with small pink shimmer
- "Aura", a shimmery muted pink

I really want to buy "Starlit" or "Siren", both are red shades, perfect to wear for a pop of shimmer on top of red lipstick.

Swatches and other photos to be posted soon!
